A considered approach to expression lines
You may first notice a line when you smile or frown, or find that it remains when your face is at rest.
A useful consultation begins with that distinction and with how much the line matters to you. At Skinoq, Line Prevention is a conversation about suitable care, the change you want and the expression you want to retain.
What does Line Prevention mean?
Line Prevention is Skinoq’s program for assessing and managing expression-line concerns. The name does not mean every line needs treatment or that future wrinkles can be prevented entirely.
There is no birthday at which treatment becomes a requirement. The decision depends on the concern, your preferences and a qualified clinician’s assessment.
Different treatments have different purposes
A neuromodulator, such as botulinum toxin, temporarily reduces activity in selected muscles and can soften certain expression lines.
A skin booster is a broad product category associated with skin-quality goals. Its purpose, evidence and suitability depend on the specific product.
A dermal filler can add volume or alter contour in suitable areas. It does not serve the same purpose as a neuromodulator.
These categories are not an automatic combination. Ask which finding a proposed treatment addresses and what it will not change. You can explore our broader anti-ageing care page for context.
The decision at your appointment
Explain what you notice during expression and at rest. Bring your medical history and details of previous injectables, including when they were administered.
At Skinoq, we connect the recommendation to your goals. Discuss expected changes in movement, treatment limitations and the option of waiting.
“Less” is not a universal dose. The appropriate product, amount and placement depend on the individual assessment.
Results and review
Onset, recovery, review timing and duration are different parts of the discussion. Ask about each for the treatment being proposed.
A follow-up assesses the response; it is not a promise that an unwanted effect can be immediately reversed. Any future treatment should take that response into account.
Repeat appointments depend on the product, effect and your preferences. A quarterly calendar should not make the decision for you.
What to understand before treatment
Injectables carry risks. These can include bruising, swelling and unwanted changes in appearance or movement, depending on the procedure. Filler also carries rare serious vascular risks.
Your clinician should explain the risks relevant to the proposed product and area, aftercare and when to seek help. Ask these questions before deciding.
Questions about expression lines
Do I need treatment as soon as a line appears?
No. Noticing a line does not create an obligation to treat it. An assessment can help you understand the options, including choosing to wait.
Will I still be able to express myself?
Discuss the degree of movement you want to retain. This is a treatment goal, not an outcome that can be guaranteed before assessment and treatment.
Is filler the same as a neuromodulator?
No. They have different purposes. The proposed treatment should match the concern being assessed.
Do I have to return every three months?
No fixed interval suits everyone. Ask when the result should be reviewed and how any further treatment would be decided.
Can I judge the final result after 72 hours?
Do not use one universal deadline. Follow the review timeline given for the actual treatment.
